The short version. We don't ask you to sign up, we don't set cookies, and we don't run analytics or advertising. If you play on the server, your Minecraft username, UUID and match results are stored so leaderboards can exist. That's it.
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers the website at mclegacy.net and the Minecraft game server reachable at play.mclegacy.net, both operated by MCLegacy (“we”, “us”). It does not cover Discord, Mojang/Microsoft, or any other third-party service you reach from here. Those have their own policies.
2. What we collect
If you only visit the website
Nothing that identifies you is stored. The site has no accounts, no login, and sets no cookies of its own. Your IP address is processed transiently, held in memory for a short sliding window and never written to disk, so that we can rate-limit abusive traffic. It is discarded automatically as that window passes.
If you play on the game server
We store, for as long as your account exists on the server:
- your Minecraft username and UUID;
- match results, Elo ratings, tiers and derived statistics;
- the times you first and most recently connected;
- moderation records, where a punishment has been issued.
Your Minecraft username, UUID, skin, ranking and statistics are shown publicly on leaderboards and profile pages. If you play, expect that to be visible to anyone.
What we never collect
We do not ask for and do not want your real name, postal address, date of birth, phone number, or payment details. There is no store. We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or advertising networks.
3. Why we're allowed to hold it
Gameplay data is processed to provide the service you asked for: you cannot have a competitive ladder without recording who won. Rate-limiting data and moderation records are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and free of cheating and abuse.
4. Third parties that see your traffic
Reaching this site necessarily involves a few other parties:
- Cloudflare proxies traffic to mclegacy.net and sees your IP address in order to route and filter requests.
- Bunny Fonts serves the two typefaces this site uses. It is a GDPR-focused font host that sets no cookies and logs no personal data, but it does receive your IP as part of the request.
- Our hosting provider operates the server the site runs on.
We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone else, and we never have.
5. How long we keep it
Rate-limiting data lives for minutes. Gameplay and statistics data is kept while your account exists on the server, because a leaderboard is a historical record. Moderation records are kept for as long as the punishment is relevant.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to us processing it. Write to [email protected] from an address we can tie to your account, or contact us on Discord. We'll respond within one month.
Deleting your gameplay data removes you from the leaderboards and forfeits your rankings. That's irreversible: we can't restore a ladder position we no longer have the data for. If you are subject to an active ban, we may retain the minimum record needed to enforce it.
7. Children
This service is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under that age has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.
8. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. We keep the amount of personal data we hold deliberately small, which is the most effective protection available to us. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page and announce it in our Discord. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
