1. Agreement
By using the website at mclegacy.net or connecting to the game server at play.mclegacy.net, you agree to these terms and to our Server Rules. If you don't agree, don't use the service. These terms are between you and MCLegacy (“we”, “us”).
2. Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft
MCLegacy is an independent, fan-operated server. It is not an official Minecraft product, and is not approved by or associated with Mojang AB or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang AB. We operate under Mojang's guidelines for commercial use of the Minecraft brand; nothing here grants you any rights in their intellectual property.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13years old to use the service, and you must own a legitimate copy of Minecraft. You're responsible for everything that happens on your account, including anything done by someone you shared it with.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use cheat clients, macros, autoclickers, reach or ping-manipulation tools, or any modification that gives an advantage the game doesn't intend;
- manipulate rankings: boosting, win-trading, queue-dodging to farm a specific opponent, or using alternate accounts to feed yourself wins;
- harass, threaten, impersonate or discriminate against other players;
- attempt to disrupt the service: denial-of-service, exploiting bugs instead of reporting them, probing for vulnerabilities, or scraping the site at a volume that degrades it for others;
- evade a ban, or help someone else evade one.
The Server Rules go into more detail. They form part of these terms.
5. Our API
The endpoints under /api/are public and you're welcome to build on them: bots, overlays, stat trackers. Please stay within the published rate limits, identify your client honestly, and cache what you can. We may change or withdraw these endpoints at any time, and we may block clients that abuse them.
6. Enforcement
We may mute, kick, temporarily suspend, permanently ban, or reset the statistics of any account we reasonably believe has breached these terms or the Server Rules. We may act without prior notice where the breach is serious or ongoing.
You may appeal any punishment through our Discord. We'll consider appeals in good faith, but the final decision is ours, and access to the server is a privilege rather than a right.
7. Rankings and statistics
Elo ratings, tiers and leaderboard positions are provided as-is. We may recalculate, reset or adjust them, for example at the start of a new season, after fixing a bug, or when removing the effects of cheating. Nobody acquires a vested right in a ranking, and rankings hold no monetary value.
8. Availability
We run this on a best-effort basis. The service may be unavailable for maintenance, upgrades or reasons outside our control, and we may modify or discontinue any part of it. We don't guarantee uptime and we don't owe you compensation for downtime.
9. Content
The site's design, code and original assets belong to us. Minecraft assets belong to Mojang AB. Anything you send through the service (chat messages, appeals, reports) you grant us permission to store and use for operating and moderating the service.
10. Liability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost progress, lost rankings, or loss arising from your inability to access the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in our Discord and reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
